GPs submit referrals using the dermdecider app, which guides them through Dermatologist-designed structured questions, and taking of photographs.
A Dermatologist reviews the referral information and photographs, and provides a triage decision (clinical advice, or referral approval).
The advice/referral response is sent to the GP. If referral is advised, dermdecider can automatically action this via the NHS e-Referral Service.
No further triage/approval is necessary at secondary care level, as the patient has already been triaged at the point of referral.
